The French advertising giant Publicis Groupe struck a deal Sunday to buy Razorfish, the cheap watches interactive agency that Microsoft has owned since acquiring the agency’s parent company, aQuantive, in 2007. Publicis, which owns interactive agencies like Digitas, agreed to pay about $530 million in cash and stock for Razorfish. The deal had been widely expected. WEDNESDAY, Aug. 5 (HealthDay News) -- Two new studies suggest that vertebroplasty, a widely used surgery to help heal compression fractures, is no better than "sham" surgery when it comes to wholesale watches relieving pain and improving daily function. But both procedures resulted in a significant decline in pain, so this is unlikely to signal the death knell for this widely performed surgery, experts noted. "From a clinician's standpoint, it's important to read this data and be aware of it," said Dr. L. Gerard Toussaint III, an assistant professor of neuroscience and experimental therapeutics at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and a neurosurgeon at Texas Brain and Spine Institute in Bryan. Vertebroplasty involves injecting a type of "cement" into the spine to stabilize it, thereby relieving pain Cartier watches and reducing disability in people who have had osteoporotic fractures. The procedure is minimally invasive and often performed under local anesthetic, with the patient going home the same day, Toussaint said. In the United States alone, some 750,000 people have vertebral compression fractures each year. According to an editorial that accompanies the studies, all appearing in the Aug. 6 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine, the number of vertebroplasty procedures performed in the United States has doubled in the past six years, from 4.3 to 8.9 per 1,000 people. Kallmes, a professor of radiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. After one month, both groups had experienced a similar, and significant, reduction in pain. "Like every other trial, patients with vertebroplasty gained substantial benefit. Pain was cut almost in half," Kallmes said. The second study, done in Australia, used essentially the same methodology with 78 participants. There have been plenty of electronic book devices in the past, but in the past year or so the Amazon Kindle has grown in popularity and built some credibility for the wholesale watches struggling market. Now, Amazon claims that Kindle eBooks account for more than 30 percent of the company's overall book sales for books that are available in the Kindle format, and Sony is jumping in again with two devices to compete with the Kindle. Conventional wisdom has long held that the advent of the personal computer and the Internet will result in the salvation of billions of trees as paper is rendered archaic and we get all of our information digitally. I have been hearing that for 20 years or so. But then again, I've also been hearing that the United States is going to switch to the metric system…eventually. For businesses, the Kindle and the Sony eBook readers can be great tools to enable users to carry and read documents. The current generation of eBook reader devices are a significant step toward the Utopian vision of a paperless office. In Afghanistan, concerns are growing about security for the country's presidential election cheap watches later this month amid an increase in violence. The New Orleans Hornets surprised us all on Monday night by agreeing to a trade that will send Tyson Chandler to Charlotte for Emeka Okafor. The deal, which was cheap watches officially completed Tuesday, isn't shocking, especially for Chandler. He was traded to Oklahoma City in February for Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox before the Thunder rescinded the deal over concerns about his left big toe, and it was widely speculated that he could be moved again. But he was supposed to be traded for salary cap relief (like he was the first time), not for a guy that's owed $38 million more (as Okafor is). This deal is a statement by the Hornets, who are telling their fans, the league, and most important, Chris Paul, that they're willing to spend money to surround their All-Star point guard with talent. The fire sale is over before it began and Hornets owner George Shinn will apparently pay for an upgrade of Paul's supporting cast. But is Okafor really an Cartier watches upgrade over Chandler? A $38 million upgrade? They're the same age, only born four days apart. Okafor, who stands 6-foot-10, is stronger and a bit more polished offensively, while the 7-foot-1 Chandler is more athletic. Okafor's numbers (13.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game over the last three seasons) are slightly better than Chandler's (10.2 and 11.2), but he has gotten more shots (10.3 field goal attempts per game vs. 6.9) and has never played next to another strong rebounder like All-Star David West. Last year, the Bobcats signed Okafor to a new six-year, $72 million contract. It was too much to pay for a guy who wasn't worthy of franchise player-type money and hadn't improved much after his rookie season. This is especially true when you consider he was a restricted free agent and Charlotte wasn't bidding against anyone to Chopard watches keep him. Chandler isn't exactly a bargain, either. He will make $12 million per season for the next two seasons, but with the trade, the Hornets are taking on the Bobcats' mistake and letting Charlotte get out of a bad contract that has five years and almost $63 million remaining. Further, is Okafor a better pick-and-roll partner for Paul? He isn't as quick and can't elevate like Chandler for those alley-oops that Paul likes to toss up. Is Okafor a better complement to West? Not hardly. The Hornets now have two bigs who are both slow-footed and best suited for the power forward position. Defensively, Okafor blocks Bvlgari watches more shots, but isn't as versatile a defender as Chandler, who effectively defended both Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan in the 2008 Playoffs. While getting Okafor is a much better return basketball-wise for Chandler than Smith and Wilcox, is it enough to make Paul forget about the chemistry he had with Chandler? Okafor gives the Hornets more offensively, but as long as the Hornets are healthy, he's not going to be more than a fourth option (behind Paul, West and Peja Stojakovic) for coach Byron Scott. His addition also doesn't solve the Hornets' biggest problem of the last two years: an inconsistent bench. Chandler will bring his share of Jaeger LeCoultre watches warts to Charlotte. He missed 37 games this season after spraining his left ankle early on, having never let it fully recover. Is Okafor going to give the Hornets more wins than a healthy Chandler would have this season? And is he going to be worth the $14.5 million the Hornets will owe him in 2013-14? Augustin, Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw as he was to Paul, Stojakovic and West. Further, Charlotte ranked 27th in offensive efficiency last season, and Chandler doesn't do much to improve that. (CNN) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez froze diplomatic ties with neighboring Colombia, citing verbal "aggressions" from that country, he said in a televised speech Tuesday. The ruling removes a major roadblock to a 2011 referendum on self-determination for the Omega Watches south, the final stage of a six-year peace agreement that stopped the war between the north and the south in 2005, after more than two decades of fighting. Redrawing the borders of the region, the ruling gives the north uncontested rights to rich oil deposits like the Heglig oil field, which had previously been placed within Abyei. But the decision leaves at least one oil field in Abyei and gives a symbolic victory to the Ngok Dinka, affirming their claims to the heartland of the Tissot Watches fertile region. “Who controls Abyei has taken on a symbolic importance beyond the traditional tensions over oil,” said Colin Thomas-Jensen, an analyst on Sudan with the Enough Project, a group that aims to stop genocide. “If the two sides can’t make Abyei work, the risk rises that the north and south will go back to war.” The largely Panerai Watches Muslim Arab north and the largely Christian and animist south have fought two civil wars since Sudan’s independence in 1956, the most recent lasting more than 20 years. In a separate referendum, the south will vote on whether to secede from Sudan. Experts warned that serious issues remained in enforcing Wednesday’s decision.
